## Changing your password

Enter your current password plus a new one (twice, to confirm), and save. You'll get an email confirming the change — if you didn't make it, contact your association's admin immediately.

## Two-factor authentication

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start setup">
    Select **Enable two-factor authentication**. You'll see a QR code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Scan it">
    Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar), then enter the 6-digit code it generates to confirm.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your recovery codes">
    You're given a set of one-time recovery codes. Save them somewhere safe — they're the only way back into your account if you lose your authenticator device.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Disabling 2FA requires your current password, and you'll get a confirmation email either way.

## Notification channels

Choose which categories of notification (dues reminders, event updates, announcements, and so on) you receive by email, SMS, or WhatsApp, separately from the in-portal [notifications](/member-guide/notifications) list.

## Group membership

If your association organizes members into groups, you can request to leave your current group or request to join a different one. An admin reviews and approves these requests — see [Groups](/admin-guide/groups) for the admin side.
