# Applications

> Review and decide on new membership applications

When someone registers on your association's public site, their application lands here for review rather than becoming a member immediately.

For each application you can:

* **Approve** — the applicant becomes a full member and gets a welcome email.
* **Request info** — ask the applicant for something missing before you decide.
* **Reject** — decline the application, with a reason sent by email.

<Tip>
  Approving an application sets the member's expiry date automatically, based on the duration of the [membership type](/admin-guide/membership-types) they applied under.
